The Los Angeles Thieves maintained their perfect record with a 3-0 blowout of OpTic Texas on Friday as the final week of qualifying for the Call of Duty League Stage 2 Major got underway.
The Thieves improved to 6-0. The second-place Toronto Ultra completed the qualifying phase with a 5-2 mark after edging the Vancouver Surge 3-2 on Friday.
In the day’s other match, the Carolina Royal Ravens swept the Miami Heretics 3-0.
The Stage 2 Major qualifying round includes all 12 teams, with each playing seven matches through Sunday to determine seeding for the Stage 2 Major playoffs, slated for Thursday through March 23 in Dallas.
On Friday, the Thieves topped OpTic 250-151 on Hacienda Hardpoint, 6-3 on Hacienda Search and Destroy and 3-0 on Vault Control.
Vancouver opened with a 250-195 win on Hacienda Hardpoint before Toronto took Vault Search and Destroy 6-4 and Hacienda Control 3-1. The Surge extended the match by claiming Protocol Hardpoint 250-137 before the Ultra sealed the match with a 6-2 triumph on Protocol Search and Destroy.
Carolina defeated Miami 250-199 on Vault Hardpoint, 6-1 on Hacienda Search and Destroy and 3-1 on Protocol Control.
