OpTic Texas overtook the Los Angeles Thieves for first place in the Call of Duty League’s Major IV qualifying by scoring a 3-1, head-to-head win on Sunday.

OpTic improved to 3-0 while the Thieves fell to 3-1.

In other Sunday action, the Toronto Ultra (1-3) posted a 3-0 sweep of the Florida Mutineers (0-4), and the Vegas Legion (2-1) logged a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Guerrillas (0-3).

Major IV qualifying, which includes all 12 Call of Duty League teams, runs through April 16, with each victory worth 10 CDL points.

OpTic opened strong on Sunday, beating Los Angeles 250-151 on Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint and 6-1 on Al Bagra Fortress Search & Destroy. The Thieves extended the match by capturing Himmelmatt Expo Control 3-0 before Texas sealed the series with a 250-204 win on Mercado Las Almas Hardpoint.

The United States’ Cuyler “Huke” Garland led OpTic with 76 kills and a 1.22 kill-death ratio. U.S. players Kenneth “Kenny” Williams and Sam “Octane” Larew each had 73 kills for the Thieves.

The Ultra topped the Mutineers 250-119 Mercado Las Almas Hardpoint, 6-2 on Embassy Search & Destroy and 3-2 on Himmelmatt Expo Control.

The United States’ Thomas “Scrappy” Ernst paced Toronto with 69 kills and a 1.50 K-D ratio. Another U.S. player, Kenyen “Capsidal” Sutton, finished with 67 kills and a 1.08 K-D ratio for Florida.

The Guerrillas began with a 250-196 triumph on Embassy Hardpoint before the Legion took Mercado Las Almas Search & Destroy 6-0. Los Angeles claimed El Asilo Control 3-1, but Vegas came back to capture Zarqwa Hydroelectric Hardpoint 250-223 and El Asilo Search & Destroy 6-1.

James “Clayster” Eubanks of the United States produced 75 kills and a plus-1.14 K-D ratio for the Legion. Joseph “JoeDeceives” Romero of the United States wound up with 77 kills and a plus-1.08 K-D ratio for the Guerrillas.

Qualifying action continues Friday with three matches:
–Toronto Ultra vs. Vegas Legion
–Los Angeles Guerrillas vs. OpTic Texas
–Atlanta FaZe vs. Minnesota Rokkr
