OpTic Texas, fresh off losing the Call of Duty League’s Major IV final, rallied for a 3-2 win over the Vegas Legion on Friday as qualifying began for Major V.

In the day’s other matches, the Atlanta FaZe shut out the Los Angeles Guerrillas 3-0 and the Toronto Ultra routed the Seattle Surge 3-0.

Major IV qualifying, which includes all 12 Call of Duty League teams, runs through May 21, with each victory worth 10 CDL points. Double elimination bracket play is scheduled for May 25-28 in Toronto, with the championship team receiving $200,000 from the $500,000 prize pool plus 65 CDL points.

Vegas opened play Friday with a 250-237 win on Embassy Hardpoint before Texas took Embassy Search and Destroy 6-4. The Legion moved back on top with a 3-2 decision on El Asilo Control, but OpTic came back to claim Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint 250-175 and Breenbergh Hotel Search and Destroy 6-5.

Canada’s Brandon “Dashy” Otell led OpTic with 102 kills and a 1.19 kill-death ratio. The United States’ Thomas “TJHaLy” Haly finished with 98 kills and a 1.03 K-D ratio for the Legion.

The FaZe handled the Guerrillas 250-180 on Al Bagra Fortress Hardpoint, 6-1 on El Asilo Search and Destroy and 3-0 on El Asilo Control.

The United States’ Tyler “aBeZy” Pharris logged 50 kills and a 1.19 kill-death ratio for Atlanta. Another U.S. player, Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson, wound up with 40 kills and a 1.00 K-D ratio for Los Angeles.

The Ultra dumped the Surge 250-168 on Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint, 6-3 on Embassy Search and Destroy and 3-0 on Breenbergh Hotel Control.

Thomas “Scrappy” Ernst of the United States powered Toronto with 64 kills and a 1.49 K-D ratio. Australia’s Amer “Pred” Zulbeari posted 53 kills and a minus-0.98 K-D ratio for Seattle.

Qualifying action continues Saturday with four matches:
–Minnesota Rokkr vs. London Royal Ravens
–Vegas Legion vs. New York Subliners
–Minnesota Rokkr vs. Boston Breach
–Toronto Ultra vs. Los Angeles Thieves
