The Miami Heretics, formerly known as the Florida Mutineers, won their second consecutive match as qualifying for the Call of Duty League’s Stage 1 Major continued on Friday.
The Heretics defeated the Las Vegas Legion 3-1.
In the day’s other matches, the Los Angeles Thieves swept the Boston Breach 3-0 and OpTic Texas downed the Seattle Surge 3-1.
All 12 CDL teams will play seven qualifying matches ahead of the Stage 1 Major, scheduled for Jan. 25-28 in Boston.
Miami dropped the first map, Terminal Hardpoint, to Las Vegas 250-161, then rolled off three consecutive wins: 6-5 on Invasion Search and Destroy, 3-2 on Invasion Control and 250-214 on Invasion Hardpoint.
The Thieves thrashed the Breach 250-190 on Invasion Hardpoint, 6-4 on Invasion Search and Destroy and 3-1 on Highrise Control.
Texas topped Seattle 250-220 on Skidrow Hardpoint and 6-3 on Karachi Search and Destroy before the Surge took Karachi Control 3-1. OpTic sealed the match with a 250-154 triumph on Terminal Hardpoint.
