The Los Angeles Guerrillas won two lower-bracket matches on Friday to stay alive at the Call of Duty League Stage 1 Major in Boston.

After downing the Los Angeles Thieves 3-1, the Guerrillas lost the first two maps against the Vegas Legion before rallying for a 3-2 victory. Vegas won its first match of the day 3-0 against the Miami Heretics.

In other lower-bracket, first-round matches, the Seattle Surge came back for a 3-2 win over the Boston Breach and the Carolina Royal Ravens ousted the New York Subliners 3-1.

The Legion jumped in from the Guerrillas by taking Skidrow Hardpoint 250-227 and Invasion Search and Destroy 6-4. Los Angeles then bounced back to take Highrise Control 3-2, Karachi Hardpoint 250-227 and Terminal Search and Destroy 6-1.

Earlier, the Guerrillas began the all-Los Angeles matchup by taking Karachi Hardpoint 250-233 and Invasion Search and Destroy 6-5. The Thieves captured Karachi Control 3-0 before the Guerrillas sealed the series with a 250-182 decision on Skidrow Hardpoint.

Vegas got past Miami 250-167 on Invasion Hardpoint, 6-4 Karachi Search and Destroy and 3-2 on Invasion Control.

The Breach sandwiched a 250-196 win on Sub Base Hardpoint and a 3-0 victory on Hardpoint Control around a 6-3 loss on Invasion Search and Destroy to start their match against the Surge. Seattle then rebounded to win Karachi Hardpoint 250-226 and Highrise Search and Destroy 6-1.

The Royal Ravens opened with a 250-238 victory on Karachi Hardpoint and a 6-3 win on Invasion Search and Destroy. The Subliners took Karachi Control 3-1, but Carolina pulled away with a 250-128 triumph on Terminal Hardpoint.
