The Boston Breach finally picked up a victory in qualifying action for the Call of Duty League’s Stage 1 Major, breaking out of the cellar with a 3-0 sweep of the Toronto Ultra on Sunday.

Boston entered the day dead last in the standings at 0-3 with a minus-6 map win-loss differential, but it broke out of its rut by dominating the Ultra on Terminal Hardpoint (250-195), Karachi Search and Destroy (6-3) and Highrise Control (3-0).

It was Toronto’s first loss in qualifiers.

All 12 CDL teams will play seven qualifying matches ahead of the Stage 1 Major, scheduled for Jan. 25-28 in Boston.

Both of Sunday’s other matches ended up being sweeps, too, as OpTic Texas blanked the Carolina Royals Ravens and the Los Angeles Guerrillas silenced the rival Los Angeles Thieves.

Texas set the tone with a dominant 250-129 victory on Skidrow Hardpoint before prevailing 6-2 on Terminal Search and Destroy and 3-0 on Karachi Control.

The Guerrillas also had no issues on the first map, coasting to a 226-182 decision on Sub Base Hardpoint. They then edged the Thieves 6-5 on Karachi Search and Destroy and wrapped things up with a 3-0 drubbing on Highrise Control.

Qualifying action continues on Jan. 13 with three matches:
–Los Angeles Guerrillas vs. Atlanta FaZe
–Seattle Surge vs. Toronto Ultra
–Minnesota Rokkr vs. New York Subliners
