Western Michigan’s Lamar Norman Jr. made six 3-pointers and finished with 24 points and Tray Maddox Jr. had 13 for the Broncos (3-8), who lost for the sixth time in seven games.

Iowa State shot 63.3 percent (31 of 49) from the floor and dominated in the paint, where it outscored Western Michigan 44-8.

The Cyclones held a 14-point halftime edge. Iowa State held at least a 13-point lead the rest of the way.

Kalscheur scored nine points and the Cyclones led by as many as 19 while building a 37-23 halftime lead.

The Cyclones held Western Michigan scoreless for nearly seven minutes and limited the Broncos to 31 percent (8 of 26) first-half shooting. Western Michigan did make 6 of 14 attempts from behind the arc.

Iowa State shot 62 percent (16 of 26) during the first half and did much of its damage in the paint, from where it outscored Western Michigan 26-4.
