Chris Bell poured in a season-high 28 points and Cal blitzed Morgan State 97-50 on Friday in Berkeley, Calif., for its eighth straight win.
Cal freshman Semetri Carr had his best all-around game with 20 points, nine assists and six rebounds.
John Camden scored 23 points while Lee Dort chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds for Cal (11-1), which reached a season-high point total while topping 90 for the fifth time this year.
Christian Oliver put up 14 points and Rob Lawson had 11 for Morgan State (2-9), which was opening a five-day, three-game California swing.
Cal never trailed, getting a pair of game-opening dunks by Dort en route to a 12-2 lead in the game’s seventh minute.
The hosts went on to lead 50-23 at halftime and never looked back, shooting 59.3% overall and 55% on 3-point attempts.
Bell, who came up two points shy of his career high, sank 8 of 11 shots overall and 4 of 6 from 3-point range. He added a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line and helped out at the other end with three blocked shots.
Camden had nearly identical success from the field, shooting 8-for-12 overall and 5-for-7 from deep. He made both his foul shots and also found time for a game-high eight rebounds to go with four assists.
On a night when Cal went finished 22-for-23 from the line, Carr made all seven of his free throws. His nine assists were a game high, and he also had three of Cal’s 12 steals.
Dort was another Golden Bear who was perfect at the line, going 2-for-2. He was also near-perfect from the field, making five of his six shots. He totaled seven rebounds.
Oliver shot 6-for-9 overall for Morgan State on a night when the visitors made just 35.8% of their shots. He also went 1-for-2 on 3-point tries, while his teammates combined to go 0-for-15.
Lawson complemented his 11 points with a team-high eight assists. Christian Meeks was Morgan State’s leading rebounder with seven.
