Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers, the No. 1 overall picks in the last two WNBA drafts, will be participating in their first USA Basketball senior national training camp next month, the organization announced Monday.

They are among the 18 players invited to attend the Dec. 12-14 camp in Durham, N.C.

Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, Lauren Betts, Sonia Citron, Kiki Iriafen, Rickea Jackson, Veronica Burton and Southern California star JuJu Watkins will also be making their senior debuts for USA Basketball.

Veterans Chelsea Gray, Brittney Griner, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, Kahleah Copper, Brionna Jones, Aliyah Boston and Dearica Hamby round out the roster.

This camp will serve as a chance for new USA coach Kara Lawson, who is also the Duke women’s coach, and new managing director Sue Bird to evaluate the players ahead of next September’s FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin, where the Americans will go for a fifth straight gold medal.

Clark, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, appeared in just 13 games for the Indiana Fever this past season due to quad, groin and ankle injuries, averaging 16.0 points, 8.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game.

Bueckers, this year’s Rookie of the Year, averaged 19.2 points, 5.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game, shooting 33.1% from 3-point range for the Dallas Wings.

Watkins, who is sitting out this college basketball season after sustaining a torn ACL in last year’s NCAA Tournament, will not be participating on the court in the training camp.
