LeBron James’ son, Bronny, was one of five amateur basketball players to finalize a name, image and likeness deal with Nike on Monday.

Bronny James currently attends Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, Calif., and turned 18 on Thursday. He is following in his father’s footsteps, as LeBron James signed a lifetime deal with Nike seven years ago and recently opened The LeBron James Innovation Center at the company’s headquarters.

“For as long as I can remember, Nike’s been a part of my family,” Bronny James said in a statement. “Getting a chance to team up with them and continue my family’s legacy both on the court and in the community is wild — it really means a lot to me.”

Nike also agreed on NIL deals with fellow Sierra Canyon guard Juju Watkins, Iowa guard Caitlin Clark, Stanford guard Haley Jones and guard D.J. Wagner, who is considered one of the top recruits in the 2023 class.

“Each athlete is recognized as a player who is paving the way for the next generation on and off the court,” Nike said in a statement. “These athletes push Nike to think about new ways the game can break barriers, bring people together, build community and shape the future.”

Through the endorsement deal, the student-athletes will in engage in acts of community service in their hometowns, although an exact plan has not been laid out yet.
