On Monday, Nvidia (NVDA) based artificial intelligence startup Synthesia announced many new features. One of them included the ability to use a webcam or phone to produce AI avatars.
The AI company is branding its video production offerings as all-encompassing. It aims to cater to large firms and not remain only a platform where web fans can build AI-generated avatars. It is also looking to become an enterprise company.
Nvidia and Access back Synthesia. It is positioning itself as the AI company that can help large firms use AI in business activities. Its new updates include the production of AI avatars using a webcam or a phone.
Other new features being launched include full-body avatars. These are more complex as they also show hand and arm movements. The startup is also developing a screen recording tool that will guide you through what you are watching.
The company explained that web fans have to go into a studio in person, record their voice, and perform lines in front of a green screen that is part of an actual film set. This acts as training data for Synthesia’s AI algorithm, which creates a humanlike avatar with vocal and facial nuances.
Synthesia’s new software makes it easy for users to create digital versions from anywhere. All that is required now is a webcam and Synthesia software.
Synthesia has also introduced the option of having avatars speak in languages of their choice. Some of the languages include English, French, German, and Chinese.
Synthesia has also launched other tools, such as an AI video assistant. It can summarize entire articles and documents. Companies can use it to make videos explaining company benefits and more.
Synthesia is valued at $1 billion and has “unicorn” status. Its subscription plans range from $22 to $67. Synthesia wants to focus on custom enterprise plans with its sales team to establish itself in the enterprise category.
