On Thursday, the California Highway Patrol arrested a man in connection with three reported sexual assaults on Highway 99 northbound near Sacramento.
Nabil Elomari, 24, was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on Thursday. He is being held on $400,000 bail and is accused of rape and kidnapping.
According to the CHP, three women were assaulted within a two-and-a-half-mile radius near Highway 99 – two of them in the same location – and all three involved a male suspect of a similar description driving a car of a similar description.
According to the CHP, all three reports involved a male with a similar description, driving a similar car, and being accused of assaulting women. All three were also within 2.4 miles of one another and off the highway. The CHP believes the person arrested is the perpetrator of these three assaults.
Investigators said two of the women claimed they were assaulted and raped at knifepoint inside a vehicle. CHP officers stopped the third alleged attack, an attempted rape.
All three attacks took place since mid-October. According to investigators, a DNA sample linked Elomari to the crimes.
