Truckee teenager Kiely Rodni, who was being searched for by hundreds of volunteers and law Divers looking for California girl Kiely Rodni enforcement members, was found dead in a car submerged in water. Recently, the cops requested assistance from a recreational diving team, and they were successful in recovering the missing teen’s body and automobile in just 35 minutes.
The 2013 Honda CRV that Rodni is thought to have driven to a graduation party near the lake out of Prosser Creek Reservoir on Sunday afternoon was discovered by a dive team. The diver who discovered the car that its license plate matches that of the Honda Rodni was operating when she vanished. The diver reported finding an upside-down automobile and a body in it in a reservoir not far from where she was last seen more than two weeks ago.
Police, in their search were unable to find the body. The law authorities appointed a dive team called Adventures With Purpose for the investigation, and they started scouring the reservoir on Sunday. Six divers from Oregon gave the reservoir one more pass in an effort to locate Rodni after the police said that at least three of their teams had already searched the water.
Following the dive, one of the crew members, 48-year-old Nick Rinn, discovered a body in a car not far from the shore and said that sonar helped him locate the automobile, which was not visible from the surface. He saw in at a depth of around 14 feet. The vehicle and corpse were discovered about 20 to 40 feet from the water’s edge of the Prosser Creek Reservoir near the area of Prosser Family Campground where the teenagers were partying. Locals call the location “The Sanctuary.”
To better understand their situation, the six divers on the AWP crew first spent four hours in two inflatable boats outfitted with sonar photographing the reservoir’s surface. The team also used a hot air balloon to survey the reservoir. The car and corpse were found more than two weeks after Rodni was reported missing and the authorities were preparing to pull back the extensive search for the teen.
According to the sheriff’s office, the decedent’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
