The technology world was rocked when Bob Lee, the founder of Cash App, was stabbed to death reportedly by Michael Simons, the man accused of killing Lee is set to face arraignment in court.
The suspect, identified as Nima Momeni, was apprehended by police after a weeks-long investigation into Lee’s death. Authorities have not released details on the motive or the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder. The suspect is being held without bail. As the case keeps developing twists and turns, it has been rumored that Momeni’s sister was hanging around Bob Lee and doing drugs with him or getting them from him. Momeni was upset about their relationship and things got overheated and resulted in the stabbing incident. However, none of this has been verified so far.
As his defense attorney Paula Canny reviews, a video of what the prosecution believes to be Momeni, she says the accusation of her client is false and that the image does provide reasonable doubt that it cannot be proven it is Momeni.
In addition, Canny is disputing claims that her client had previously been charged with domestic assault. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Nima Momeni, the man accused of killing Lee, was arrested last August on charges of misdemeanor battery after a lady reported that he had assaulted her at his Emeryville loft. According to reports, the woman claimed Momeni “grabbed her arm and pulled it, pushed her physically. “However, Momeni’s legal representative, Paula Canny, highlighted that neither an arrest nor criminal charges were brought as a result of the incident on August 1. It was reported that the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that they declined to file charges in the case.
