In an exclusive, the New York Post reported the results of a survey conducted by WPA Intelligence. The survey polled 1,571 registered voters. Eighty-year-old Biden leads 76-year-old Trump—47 percent to 40 percent. This seven-point lead is much higher than the 4.5 percent lead with which Biden defeated Trump in 2020. It is also much higher than the 3.9 percentage lead of Democrat Barack Obama against Republican Mitt Romney when the former president stood for reelection and won in 2012.
The WPA Intelligence poll also showed a close to double increase in percentage points by independent voters, for Biden. It said that 14 percent of these voters had backed Biden. According to a poll conducted by Pew Research Center, Biden won nine percent of the independent vote in the earlier presidential election.
The poll conducted on Wednesday also showed Democrats were leading generic down ballot races 47 percent to 42 percent. Trump remained at the top of the Republican ticket. The poll has an error margin of plus or minus 2.5 percent. It was conducted between May 10 and 13.
Although the President has lost his initial popularity with the voters, the former president is still more unpopular with the voters. Joe Biden, the present commander-in-chief of the nation registered a favorable impression with 69 percent of the vote as 54 percent had an unfavorable impression.
His predecessor and former commander-in-chief of the nation Donald Trump polled worse figures. Only 32 percent of the registered voters have a favorable impression of Trump while 62 percent have an unfavorable impression of him.

The battle between the two titans is expected to be close in 2024, provided both remain in the election. However, Trump is facing several lawsuits and more, and the outcomes could become a deciding factor in the 2024 election, which is still several months away.
