Bennett Stirtz scored 27 points on 7-for-13 shooting, and Iowa cruised to a 74-57 win over Indiana in a Big Ten Conference matchup Saturday afternoon in Bloomington, Ind.

Tavion Banks added 26 points on 8-for-12 shooting and collected eight rebounds for Iowa (13-5, 3-4), which snapped a three-game losing streak. Tate Sage added seven points off the bench.

Tayton Conerway scored 16 points on 8-for-12 shooting to lead Indiana (12-6, 3-4). Sam Alexis finished with 13 points and eight boards.

The Hawkeyes shot 50 percent (23 of 46) overall and 36.8 percent (7 of 19) from 3-point range. They made 21 of 23 free throws.

The Hoosiers shot 38.5 percent (20 of 52) from the field and 25 percent (6 of 24) from beyond the arc. They made 11 of 15 free-throw attempts.

Iowa jumped to a double-digit lead at the half.

Lamar Wilkerson knocked down a 3-pointer to bring Indiana within 35-28 with 2:18 remaining in the first half.

Stirtz made one of two free-throws on the opposite lead to push Iowa’s lead to eight points. Banks made a driving layup with 1:13 to go to finish the first-half scoring and make it 38-28.

Indiana cut the deficit to 49-45 with 11:13 remaining. Reed Bailey made a pair of free throws to pull the Hoosiers within four points.

Iowa responded by scoring the next five points on a 3-pointer by Stirtz and a turnaround jump shot by Banks. Bailey made two more free throws, and then Stirtz knocked down another 3-pointer to put Iowa on top 57-47 with 9:14 to go.

The Hawkeyes increased their lead to as many as 22 points with 1:47 to go. Banks made a layup off an assist from Kael Combs to give Iowa a 74-52 advantage.

Indiana’s Tucker DeVries, son of head coach Darian DeVries, could not find a way to break out of his recent shooting slump. He finished with seven points on 2-for-9 shooting for his fourth single-digit outing in the past five games.
