Cincinnati Bengals third-year wide receiver Tee Higgins underwent shoulder surgery and will be sidelined for two months, missing offseason workouts.
Higgins missed two games early in the 2021 season with the injury but ended up catching 74 passes for 1,091 yards and six touchdowns in 14 starts.
“Made a decision to get it fixed,” Bengals coach Zac Taylor said Monday. “(I) don’t expect him to be part of the offseason.”
Higgins, 23, has 1,999 receiving yards and 12 TDs in his first two seasons with the Bengals, who selected him in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Higgins caught 18 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns in four postseason games (three starts) during the Bengals’ run to the Super Bowl, where they lost to the Los Angeles Rams in February. Higgins had 100 yards receiving and both of his TDs in the Super Bowl loss.
