LVMH which owns fashion labels from Christian Dior to Saint Laurent pledged on Wednesday to ban ultra thin models from their advertising and catwalk shows in response to criticism that the industry encourages anorexia.
The charter also forbids the hiring of girls under the age of 16 to pose as adult models for shows or shoots.
The brands also agreed to ban casting agencies from presenting “size zero” models and to make a dedicated psychologist available during their working time.
