Auburn remained the unanimous No. 1 team in the country for the second consecutive week, with Duke holding steady at No. 2 and St. John’s climbing to sixth in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday.
The Tigers (27-2) collected all 61 first-place votes to remain ahead of the Blue Devils (26-3). Houston (25-4), Tennessee (24-5) and Florida (25-4) round out the top five.
St. John’s (26-4) notched two more wins to inch to No. 6, followed by Alabama (23-6), Michigan State (24-5), Texas Tech (22-7) and Iowa State (22-7). The Red Storm clinched the Big East regular season title and ascended to their highest spot in the poll since being No. 5 in 1990-91.
No team dropped out of the poll this week, but Texas A&M (20-9) fell 10 spots to No. 22 after two more losses last week extended its losing skid to four games.
Louisville (23-6) jumped five spots to No. 14.
