Yibing Wu of China saved four championship points to win a marathon final over fifth seed John Isner 6-7 (4), 7-6 (3), 7-6 (12) on Sunday in Dallas.

Wu also upset another American, top seed Taylor Fritz, in the semifinals en route to becoming the first man from China to win an ATP Tour event.

After saving match point down 6-5 in the second set, Wu won the tiebreak with ease to force a third set. Isner saved four match points and Wu saved three as neither player led by more than a point until Wu broke Isner’s serve while up 13-12.

Isner served up 44 aces in the two-hour, 58-minute match.

Open Sud de France

No. 2 seed Jannik Sinner of Italy ended the dream run of Maxime Cressy with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win in the final in Montpellier, France.

Sinner saved all three break points he faced and won a remarkable 33 of 38 first-service points (87 percent) to counter Cressy’s 10 aces.

Cressy, an American, was born in France and was looking for his second career singles title.

Cordoba Open

In an all-Argentine final, fourth seed Sebastian Baez beat sixth seed Federico Coria 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 to win the title in Cordoba, Argentina.

Baez converted four of six break-point opportunities and benefitted from Coria’s five double faults.

It was the 22-year-old’s second ATP Tour title and his first in his home nation.
