Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey announced an arrest warrant charging Brian Walshe with murder was issued Tuesday in the death of his wife Ana Walshe, a Massachusetts mother of three who had been missing since the new year.
Brian Walshe is sitting in jail for charges of misleading police in the missing case of Anna Walsh, his wife who has not been seen since New Year’s Eve. Her husband Brian Walsh was not the first person to report her missing, it was her employer that did.
According to investigators, police discovered blood and a bloody knife in the basement of the family’s Cohasset home; Brian Walshe’s internet records that show searches for “how to dismember and dispose of a body. ” A hacksaw and evident bloodstains at a trash collection site were found.
Investigators have been unable to confirm Brian Walshe’s report that his wife Jan. took an Uber or Lyft at 6 a.m. on New Year’s Day to board her flight from Boston to Washington, D.C. Walshe had informed police that was the last time he saw her before her disappearance.
Police reports that Ana did not use an airline ticket for Jan. 3 and did not show up to work in D.C. the next day. When she did not report for work, her company reported to the police that she was not reachable.
In addition, according to a news release from the DA’s office, Cohasset, and Massachusetts State Police “established reasonable cause” to suspect that Brian Walshe misleads police detectives when they brought him into custody to investigate his wife Ana Walshe’s disappearance.
