The app industry is booming with billions in downloads and consumer spending. Reports say that people spend more time on apps ( three hours and 40 minutes) per day and they have become a big rival for TV.
This week both Apple and Google announced curated editorial list of best apps and most downloads by Apple.
Best Apps of The Year
Endel, a de-stressing app, was the best iOS for Apple Watch App of the year. Disney+ was the best Apple TV App, Zoom was the iPad App of the year and Wakeout! was Apple’s iPhone App of the year. The immensely popular Fantastical was Mac App of the year.
Best Games Of The Year
Legends of Runeterra was the best iPad Game of the year while Disco Elysium topped the list as Mac Game of the year. The Apple TV Game of the year was Dandara Trials of Fear. The Apple Arcade Game of the year was Sneaky Sasquatch.
Apple’s Most Downloaded Apps 2020
Apple also curated the best app of the year as per downloads and games.
The Top Free App – iPhone was ZOOM Cloud Meetings. The Top Paid iPhone app was TouchRetouch.
The Top Free iPhone Game was Among Us! and the Top Paid iPhone Game was Minecraft.
