Anthony Davis had 25 points and 10 rebounds on Sunday to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 139-129 victory over the visiting Toronto Raptors.

D’Angelo Russell had 24 points off the bench, while starter Cooper Flagg added 22 points for the Mavericks, who earned their first win of the season following consecutive home losses. P.J. Washington and Max Christie scored 17 points apiece, Naji Marshall added 12 and Klay Thompson poured in 10 for Dallas, which shot 58.8% from the field, compared to Toronto’s 49% clip.

Scottie Barnes had 33 points, 11 rebounds and six assists to pace Toronto, followed by Brandon Ingram’s 22 points and RJ Barrett and Sandro Mamukelashvili’s 16 apiece. Immanuel Quickley scored 14 points but made just 1 of 7 3-point attempts. Quickley is 2-for-18 (11.1%) from long distance through three games. Gradey Dick chipped in 10 points off the bench in the loss.

The Raptors expanded a two-point halftime lead to 76-69 lead with 9:49 left in the third.

From there, Davis scored eight of Dallas’ 9-0 spurt, helping the Mavericks take a 78-76 advantage.

After another Toronto run put the visitors ahead by three midway through the third, Flagg’s three-point play stamped Dallas’ 13-0 run, giving the Mavericks a 95-85 lead. Marshall finished the third with a three-point play, sending Dallas into the fourth with a 12-point lead, 103-91. Dallas outscored the Raptors 39-25 in the third.

Davis’ four straight points to open the fourth gave the Mavericks their largest lead to that point at 107-91.

Ingram’s layup at the 3:42 mark of the fourth pulled the Raptors within 10, but Russell’s triple and Christie’s free throws gave the Mavericks a 128-113 advantage, sealing Dallas’ first win.

Dallas made 12 of 17 (70.6%) field-goal attempts in the first quarter and Marshall’s three-point play tied the score at 32 apiece entering the second.

From there, neither team took a lead larger than four until Barnes’ dunk, Ingram’s mid-range jumper and Mamukelashvili’s layup gave the Raptors a 66-60 edge with 43 seconds remaining in the first half.

Russell’s consecutive jumpers trimmed the Mavericks’ halftime deficit to 66-64.
