President Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr. tested positive for coronavirus and is in quarantine.
A personal spokesman told CNN on Friday, “Don tested positive at the start of the week and has been quarantining out at his cabin since the result. He’s been completely asymptomatic so far and is following all medically recommended guidelines.”
Bloomberg first reported his positive results. Trump Jr. has followed a long list of people close to President Trump, who have been infected with the virus in the recent months. He was among the guests who attended the White House’s indoor election night party. Almost all the attendees present were not wearing a mask.
A prior White House celebration, also deemed a super spreader event, was the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett. During this event, many attendees mingled together and shook hands. They did not maintain social distancing nor did many of them wear masks.
Trump Junior has been responsible for spreading a lot of misinformation about the coronavirus. A few weeks ago, he had told Fox News that the number of deaths from COVID-19 was “almost nothing.” This was contrary to the fact that there had been more than 228,000 who had succumbed to coronavirus, at that time. His twitter account had been suspended in summer for spreading misinformation.
This November has been horrendous in the US as daily case records of infection have been reached almost every day.
