Amy Schneider is on a winning streak. She created “Jeopardy!” history as she won more than a million dollars in non tournament play. And that is not all she can get to win as she will return to the game on Monday. She had created new records and broken a few. She is still on a roll and will continue her historic winning and record breaking spree.
Some of her unique achievements include being the first transgender contestant to qualify for the “Tournament of Champions” in Jeopardy! The show that was aired on Friday night was her 28th show. Her winnings crossed one million dollars, the exact amount being $1,019,001. Her earnings are the highest among all the female contenders in the show. She is also the newest record holder for the most number of consecutive wins in Jeopardy! by a female contender.
The software engineer manager was the fourth person and the first woman to win a million dollars on the show. Other Jeopardy contenders who broke the one million dollar barrier include the following:
Ken Jennings–$2,520,700
James Holzhauer–$2,462,216
Matt Amodio–$1,518, 601.
Amy Scheider, who is a 42-year old resident of California, told TMZ that it felt “amazing” as well as “strange.” She said that she had not anticipated winning so much money or that so much money would be “associated” with her “name.”
The Associated Press reported that she did not seem to be “the gloating type.” However, she was thrilled by the fact that the prediction made by her 8th grade classmates in her Dayton, Ohio school was fulfilled. They had voted her as the most likely “Jeopardy!” contestant. The vote was based on her spelling bee as well as geography skills. Amy Schneider has not only fulfilled that prediction but has also broken many Jeopardy! records.
Amy Schneider, Good luck for Monday!
