Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is the latest chip design firm to unveil its new processors for artificial intelligence-enabled personal computers. On Tuesday, AMD described its Ryzen processors as the most powerful chips for business PCs. The chip designer is ready to compete directly with Nvidia and Intel, which have also designed chips for AI PCs.
AMD unveiled the Ryzen Pro 8040 series processors for laptops and the Ryzen Pro 8000 for desktop computers. They are built using advanced 4-nanometer technology. The press release from the US chip designer said that its processors will power popular brands such as HP, Lenovo, and others. The Tuesday release said the chips will be available in these brands by the second quarter of 2024. AMD outlined the features of the new chips in a press release on Tuesday.
The new Ryzen Pro series processors, built on the Ryzen 8000G and Ryzen 8040 chips, were unveiled two months ago. The new portfolio has AMD Pro security and management features to help IT professionals.
