Amazon (AMZN) has lowered prices on several items, mainly groceries, as it competes with giant retailers such as Target and Walmart. It is also launching a new private label called Amazon Saver.
The e-commerce giant offers deeper discounts after other nationwide retailers lower their prices. Amazon offers great deals on groceries, razor blades, shaving creams, jewelry, home goods, electronics, vitamin bottles, and other items online.
Amazon has launched its private label in the US, Amazon Saver. The brand offers cheaper items under $5, and Amazon Prime Members get a 10 percent discount.
Amazon will offer a selection of 8 to 50 grocery items with discounts of up to 50 percent. These items will be introduced on a rotating basis, and the e-commerce giant has already added several products to the selection, which is set to increase in number over time.
Amazon’s Tuesday announcement also said that the retailer has “simplified” its online shopping storefront on Amazon Fresh for its web fans. It has added a “repeat items” feature, and users can set preferences, including day and time, for weekly delivery and pickup of groceries with the help of “recurring reservations.”
Recently, Amazon added a new subscription for its Prime Members. These subscribers can avail themselves of a $9.99 monthly or $99.99 yearly grocery delivery subscription.
