
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren, Sanchez-Bezos will be honorary chairs at the Met Gala this year, according to Vogue magazine who also shared its guest list as well as members of the host committee.
The Met Gala will be held on May 4, 2026. Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sanchez-Bezos are the main sponsors of the event and have been named as honorary chairs. Secondary sponsors include Paris based jewelry, apparel and perfume brand Saint Laurent as well as Vogue publisher Condé Nast.
Earlier Anna Wintour of Vogue had said that Lauren Sanchez-Bezos was a “great number of costume and obviously of fashion.”
Anna Wintour is a friend of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez-Bezos from years. She was invited to their glamorous wedding in Venice, last summer. Philanthropist and author, Lawrence Sanchez has also been featured on Vogue’s digital cover. She appeared in a multi page story with discussions about her wedding and her gown.
The dress code for the Met Gala has also been announced, and it is “fashion is art.” The New York Metropolitan Museum of Art has said that the Costume Institute will showcase historical and contemporary garments for the exhibition. The three categories include the classical body and the nude body, ageing bodies and pregnant bodies, and the anatomical body.
Jeff Bezos has a long history with the Met Gala. He first appeared at the event with his wife, MacKenzie Scott. In 2019, he made a solo appearance at the Met Gala. In 2024, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez made their debut as a couple at the Met Gala. In May 2026, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez-Bezos will appear as husband and wife as well as honorary chairs at the Met Gala.
