Alphabet’s Google (GOOGL) has been rolling out many new features for Android users to make their lives easier. The tech giant’s latest feature is Google Password Manager, which was initially announced in February. According to Google System release notes, the feature will be live in May, along with updates to make Android more secure and reliable and other new and useful features for web fans.
Google introduced this new feature only for members of a web fan’s family group. The feature was released as part of Google Play Services update v.24.20, and password sharing is available only for members of the family unit in Google and not for anyone with a Google account.
According to Google, the new feature allows web fans to share passwords securely in their family group with the help of Google Password Manager. Web fans must create a family group if they do not have one on Google.
When a web fan from the group shares a password, family members receive a copy of their password in their Google Password Manager. It will be ready to use as long as the family member is present in the family group.
This feature can help families access and manage tasks such as daycare in a single account, as mentioned by Google, or parents get access to school assignments by their child or children and more. It can streamline family activities under one umbrella and make it easier for different family members to access important information with security and password protection.
Google Password Manager is available on smartphones with Android, and the feature is expected to be rolled out for desktops and iOS in the future using the Google Chrome app.
