A’ja Wilson scored 20 points and hit the go-ahead jumper with 58.5 seconds left as the Las Vegas Aces began a four-game road trip by rallying down the stretch for a 72-67 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Friday in Uncasville, Conn.

The Aces (22-12) won their fourth straight by gradually rallying from a 15-point deficit and outscoring the Sun 46-29 in the second half.

Wilson gave the Aces the lead for good when she sank a 15-footer from the right elbow to make it 68-67. After Connecticut’s DiJonai Carrington missed a jumper with 40.4 seconds left, Chelsea Gray sank a 3-pointer to extend the lead to 71-67 with 18.8 seconds remaining.

Wilson split a pair at the foul line with 5.4 seconds left.

Kelsey Plum led the Aces with 27 points and Gray added 13 as the Aces survived shooting 38.5 percent from the floor.

Brionna Jones scored 17 points and Marina Mabrey added 15 for the Sun, who shot 44.6 percent but were outscored 15-4 in the final five minutes and lost their second straight game.

The Sun (24-10) shot a scorching 73.3 percent (11-for-15) in the opening quarter and held a 22-17 lead. Connecticut opened a 34-21 advantage on a 3-pointer by Tyasha Harris with 4:25 left in the half, expanded it to 15 on two free throws by Carrington with 1:47 remaining and held a 38-26 lead by the break.

After a basket by Jones gave the Sun a 40-28 lead a little over a minute into the third, the Aces scored the next 10 points, then got within 45-44 on a basket by Wilson with 3:27 left in the period.

The Sun took a 50-44 lead on Mabrey’s 3-pointer with 2:21 left in the third and took a 52-49 edge into the fourth.

Connecticut went up 63-57 on a hoop by Alyssa Thomas with 5:12 left before Las Vegas stormed back.
