On the heels of one of their more impressive victories of the season, the Dallas Wings will look to string together a rare winning streak on Wednesday when they host the Atlanta Dream in Arlington, Texas.

In an otherwise forgettable season thus far, Dallas (8-19) posted a 92-82 win over the New York Liberty on Monday.

The Wings’ impressive backcourt duo of Paige Bueckers (18.2 points per game) and Arike Ogunbowale (16.1) was on full display in the win. Both guards went for 20 points while Ogunbowale added 14 assists for a Dallas squad that tries to inch further away from the league basement.

“We’ve made it a point to communicate with each other more,” Ogunbowale said of her relationship with Bueckers, the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. “Just to pick each other up when we see something going on. We’ve just been building that relationship and chemistry, knowing that we’re kind of the two leads on this team and a lot of our stuff goes through us.”

Dallas has split its two meetings with Atlanta this season. A victory for the Wings on Wednesday would mark the third pair of consecutive wins for the team this year.

Atlanta (15-11) will have to rebound quickly on the second night of a back-to-back, following a 77-75 home setback against the Golden State Valkyries on Tuesday.

Trailing by 13 entering the final quarter, the Dream rallied to take a late lead before falling on Cecilia Zandalasini’s game-winning jumper in the final seconds.

“Disappointing loss. We dug ourselves a hole but had a great fight in the fourth quarter to have a chance to win it,” Atlanta head coach Karl Smesko said. “Nobody’s going to feel sorry for us. Dallas definitely isn’t going to feel sorry for us, so now it’s just about resting, recovering, hydrating and getting your mind right.”

Atlanta’s leading scorer Allisha Gray (18.5 points per game) was held to just 12 points on 2-for-11 shooting in the loss. Wednesday marks the Dream’s seventh game away from home in its past eight outings.
