The body of Frank Vallelonga Jr., 60, a former actor most known for his part in the 2018 film Green Book, was discovered discarded outside a sheet metal production facility in the Bronx on Monday.
Vallelonga Jr. played a relative of Viggo Mortensen’s bouncer character Frank “Tony Lip” Vallelonga in the Best Picture Oscar winner Green Book. The film’s real-life bouncer, Vallelonga Jr., was also an actor best known for portraying mafia lord Carmine Lupertazzi in The Sopranos. In 2013, Vallelonga Sr. passed away.
Police apprehended Steven Smith, 35, and charged him with concealing a human corpse a day after the horrifying discovery. When a 911 caller reported finding the deceased outside the factory shortly before 4 a.m. on Monday, police said they were able to find his body. NYPD said police responded to a 911 call of an unconscious male in front 1243 Oak Point Avenue in the Bronx, early Monday morning.
According to a police spokeswoman, Smith was allegedly seen on security footage throwing Vallelonga Jr.’s body from the automobile. The official continued, “The suspect is alleged to have confessed during questioning over another case police are looking into.” The other case’s specifics weren’t immediately revealed.
