Bob Saget was found dead in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida. He was on a stand-up comedy tour across the nation. Hotel employees found him dead at about 4 p.m., on Sunday. Although few details are available, police ruled out foul play and also said that there were no obvious signs of drug use.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office told TMZ that the Medical Examiner’s office would make the final call on the “cause” and “manner” of Saget’s death. They also confirmed that detectives “found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.”
Saget’s family wrote that they were “devastated” by his death on January 9 and asked for privacy. However, they also told his friends and followers to celebrate his life “remembering the love and laughter” as he loved them very much. Tributes poured in from the entire cast of Full House, the family sitcom that made him a household name.
Bob Saget had performed a stand-up gig in Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday. He had been upbeat about the show and had posted on his Twitter handle that he was finding his new voice and was “loving every moment of it.” It was his final post. He was supposed to continue with similar gigs till May 2022.
Bob Saget entered the homes of millions with his excellent performance as Danny Tanner in Full House. He played the leading role from 1987 to 1995. He was joined by John Stamos, David Coulier and his TV daughters Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin and twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who took turns in playing the role of the youngest daughter Michelle. He also appeared on some episodes of Fuller House.
Bob Saget also hosted “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and played a few short roles in shows such as Entourage. He was the voice over for “How I Met Your Mother.” He also appeared on several movies and TV shows through the years.
The entire cast of Full House, several comedians and many, many stars and actors paid heartfelt and loving tributes to Bob Saget on social media.
