A Navy hospital corpsman killed at Maryland base after shooting two people. The Navy hospital corpsman was killed at a Maryland base on Tuesday. He shot two people nearby as officials responded at 8:20 a.m. at Riverside Technical Park in Frederick, MD.
Police Chief Jason Lando stated officers found two men with gunshot wounds and were taken by ambulance to Baltimore Shock Trauma, and listed in critical condition. The suspect is identified as a 38-year-old Navy hospital corpsman. After shooting the two men, the suspect drove to the U.S. Army’s Fort Detrick military base, where he was shot.
“The U.S. Navy can confirmed there was an active shooter incident at Fort Detrick, Maryland involving U.S. Navy sailor. The names of the suspect and the injured men were not immediately released by authorities. The FBI’s Baltimore Field Office was assisting the Maryland State Police and Frederick County Police in the investigation.
After the scene was cleared local schools were placed on lockdown.
