3 Biggest Tech Wars and Their Winners

Added to Favorite

The history of technology is filled with wars between some of the biggest names (and it hasn’t been pretty) – Oracle, Apple, Google, Samsung, Facebook, Microsoft, SAP. We’ve seen these giant names in some of the nastiest battles over the years resulting in a balance of power shifts, a disturbance in the force, and market moves. Let’s call it the Tech Wars. As they say, there are no winners in wars, and surprisingly this bodes true for tech wars as well because the public is divided over these the same as ever.

Let’s look at the epic ones that are still raging

  1. IOS vs. Android

If you’re looking for drama, then this is the right place for it. The age-old iOs vs. Android battle still isn’t over, with the prize being the future of smartphones. Consider the following passionate and fiery words of the late Steve Jobs: “I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple’s $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong. I’m going to destroy Android because it’s a stolen product. I’m willing to go to ä thermonuclear war on this. They are scared to death because they know they are guilty.” Guess we’ll never know who wins because this war doesn’t seem to have an ending date.

  1. PC vs. Mac

This tech battle has been played out on the small screen where the cool kids were pitted against the geeks. This is the war from which all other wars have been judged, and human names have also been evaluated along with them. Statements like, “I am a PC, I am a Mac” have become a mandatory part of today’s culture. So who won? Like star wars vs star trek, every new generation brings new insights and turns the tide.

  1. Google vs Yahoo

Remember the time when “search” was a neat web tool from companies with cool sounding names? It didn’t take long for search to be transformed into a search engine with complex algorithms that generate millions of online advertising dollars. Google rained on Yahoo’s parade big time and became the biggest, baddest tech guru on the planet. Don’t we know who really won?

These tech battles just scratch the surface of the technology war that has been going since we can remember. These wars will continue until the end of time while the public enjoys the latest advancements that make life more convenient in every way!
