Serena Williams Dropped out of the Australian Open Tuneup because of the right shoulder injury on Friday she was within hours of setting up the semifinal match against top- ranked Ash Barty.
Williams previously withdrew Brown the French Open former second round match due to an Achilles tendon injury she suffered in October. Her practice time was limited because she had to quarantine for 14 days when traveling to Australia for the tournament.
Williams had three wins at the Yarra Valley Classic, totaling culminating with a 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 win in a match tiebreaker over Danielle Collins on Friday.
This could be a good time for Serena to rest with the first major starting this Monday.
