The Atlanta FaZe became the first team to reach 2-0 in qualifying for the Call of Duty League’s Stage 3 Major on Sunday.

Atlanta defeated OpTic Texas 3-1, while the other two matches of the day went a full five maps. The Seattle Surge outlasted the Carolina Royal Ravens 3-2 and the Los Angeles Thieves beat the Vegas Legion by the same score.

All 12 CDL teams will play seven qualifying matches ahead of the Stage 3 Major, scheduled for May 16-19 in Toronto. Every team will advance to the double-elimination tournament, with the qualifying matches determining seeding.

Each qualifier win is worth 10 points. The prize pool for the tournament (money and CDL points) has yet to be announced.

The Toronto Ultra won the Stage 1 Major in January. The Atlanta FaZe won the Stage 2 Major.

On Sunday, OpTic Texas took the opening map against Atlanta, winning 250-207 on 6 Star Hardpoint. The FaZe responded with a 6-4 triumph on Highrise Search & Destroy, moved in front with a 3-2 victory on Highrise Control and eked out a 250-241 victory on Rio Hardpoint to complete the comeback.

The Surge opened with a 250-211 victory on 6 Star Hardpoint and a 6-4 result on Invasion Search & Destroy. The Royal Ravens bounced back by blanking Seattle 3-0 on Karachi Control and winning 250-229 on Sub Base Hardpoint. The final map was 6 Star Search & Destroy, and it belonged to Seattle by a 6-3 count.

Similarly, the Thieves ran away with a 250-49 win on 6 Star Hardpoint and notched a 6-3 win on Rio Search & Destroy before Vegas countered on Invasion Control (3-2) and Vista Hardpoint (250-247). Los Angeles earned the victory with a 6-2 finale on 6 Star Search & Destroy.

Play resumes Friday with three matches:
