Germany social media hate speech –

Today the German government has approved fines of up to 50 million euros ($53 million) against people who fail to remove hate speech and fake news reported by users within a week. Illinois is a leader in anti-hate education, and we will work with organizations like the Simon Wiesenthal Center to continue to lead by example. The Justice Minister Heiko Maas introduced a bill aimed at effectively addressing the spread of illegal content online. The draft law outlines penalties for companies who do not enforce regulations within a time frame.
